We can beat Liverpool
Statements likes these, from a newly promoted team, with a very small budget, and a squad, were no one can claim a place in the Liverpool squad, was never heard of just last season.
As I wrote just the other day, Roy Hodgson, who openly critizise his players, claiming that it is not his team, and denies taking responsibility, is deirectly resonsible for the believe at the other teams, that they can beat Liverpool.
Slamming Joe Cole is fuel for the other teams
In the case of Fernando Torres, it is a another matter. Sadly Torres have had a poor season so far. Justrecently he could have changed the outcome of the games at Tottenham and even Newcastle, if he had put away thoose great chances he got.
The funny thing about Torres is, that while RH has no issues with slamming Joe Cole and Glen Johnson in public, he has stood by Torres all season. I am not one to critisize RH for that. I just have a hard time understanding his methods.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool's trip to Blackpool on Sunday, Hodgson insists Torres is not struggling.
The important thing is your players keep getting in the right positions and if we can keep getting Fernando into areas where he can score goals he will score goals.

I am sorry, but Torres have just scored 5 goals this season, and he is not getting in to the right positions enough. Torres is struggeling. I dont think that he is unhappy in Liverpool, I just think that his is disappointed, and not really fit, because he havent had the time to probely build up his fitness.
